  • Description:The Camden County 4-H group is very excited to be part of the PMN. Our monitoring site is in St. Mary's Georgia which is in Camden County. Our initial group has thirty 4-H'ers participating in the project, and we will all begin sampling and identifying phytoplankton on October 18, 2005. Being that we are a 4-H group, every student in grades 5-12 has the opportunity to participate. Our sampling and identification will be done after school. The PMN allows us to include a wide number of students to an ongoing "real world" marine science project, and it also provides the equipment that we use which is vital to the project being a success. Our students will learn much about phytoplankton and their importance in the world ecosystem. We look forward to participating in the project and this would be a great program for all 4-H groups in coastal areas.
