About CCEHBR

CCEHBR provides scientific information required to resolve issues related to the health of coastal ecosystems. Major research areas include Estuaries and Land Use, Harmful Algal Blooms and Analytical Response, Marine Disease and Restoration Ecology (performed at the Cooperative Oxford Lab), and Protected Areas and Resources.

Pharmaceuticals in the Environment

The Pharmaceuticals in the Environment, Information for Assessing Risk is a database of available information on the general chemistry and toxicology of potential environmental levels of pharmaceuticals. This information will allow users to quickly assess the hazards these drugs might pose to aquatic resources. Visit the project's web site.

Ecosystems

CCEHBR conducts its research in places that are important to NOAA. These coastal designations are: Sanctuaries, Coral Reefs, Estuaries (in general), National Estuarine Research Reserves (NERRS), and Coastal Oceans.

Stressors

Ecosystem changes are the result of natural events or human behavior. Center research is directed to the following five categories of ecosystem stress: Pollution, Extreme Events, Land and Resource Use, Climate Change, and Invasive Species.
