Cooperative Oxford Laboratory Partnership Mission
"Bring together the unique combination of scientific, response, and management capabilities
of NOAA, Maryland DNR, &
USCG to evaluate and identify actions and policies that
will protect, restore, and secure the health of Chesapeake Bay and other threatened
coastal marine ecosystems."
Cooperative Oxford Laboratory's Place in NOAA
The Cooperative Oxford Laboratory is located on the Chesapeake Bay shoreline in the
town of Oxford, Maryland and is administered by the National Ocean Service. The
Laboratory and its research programs operate as an integrated Division of the
Center for Coastal Environmental Health and Biomolecular Research (CCEHBR) with research
facilities in Charleston, SC and Oxford, MD. This structure benefits
NCCOS and the
Cooperative Oxford Lab by providing a greater diversity of scientific expertise
required to confronting complex coastal ecosystem issues.
