Coral Health and Disease

The Coral Health and Disease Program at CCEHBR provides biomedical-based expertise to support efforts by NOAA’s National Action Plan to Conserve Coral Reefs, the Coral Reef Conservation Program and the Coral Reef Task Force to understand and address the effects of natural and anthropogenic stressors on corals and coral reef systems to aid in their preservation and protection.

Environmental Genetics

The Environmental Genetics Program uses molecular techniques such as DNA sequencing to assess genetic diversity, define population structure and isolate causes of disease. Resultant knowledge helps guide management and conservation efforts in promoting sound coastal stewardship.

The Marine Mammals Program conducts research to support the management and conservation of marine mammal species.
